Holistic means considering the complete person; mind, body and spirit.Holistic body massage is very similar to swedish massage. The therapist uses straight forward massage techniques that can incorporate many different massage movements to make it as vigorous or relaxing depending on the individual client's needs.Massage is suitable for all ages, however where the client is under the age of 16yrs a responsible parent/guardian or nominated adult must be present throughout, and the consultation form giving permission must be countersigned. What are the benefits of massage? Holistic massage can help on many levels - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. About the therapist. Treatment Plan On your first visit, I shall carry out a consultation with you which will address your health, medical history, past and present, lifestyle, and diet. The treatment plan will be dependant on the your individual reasons for receiving massage, because in some cases it may simply be a birthday pamper voucher!. What to expect After consultation has taken place, I shall make sure you are still happy to receive a treatment. I will leave the room and ask you to remove your clothing down to your under garments and wear the bath robe provided. Placing clothes in the box that I will have supplied for you. When you are ready I shall re-enter the room and ask you to safely get on to my massage table and I will remove the bath robe and place warm towels over you to retain modesty throughout. Following the massage, you - the client, and myself will review the treatment and discuss aftercare advice and future client needs. Safety Precautions. There are many benefits to massage however there are certain medical conditions where massage is not appropriate such as: If you suffer from any of the above,I would advise you to consult with your doctor or medical practitioner(Chiropractor etc) if you are in any doubt as to whether massage would interfere with any medical supervision you are currently under, BEFORE embarking on massage.
