Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I have treatments?

I mainly work from my therapy room at home... however I can also do mobile visits for those unable to get to me in Ivybridge, please see costing under prices question.

What should I wear?

For both Reflexology, Body massage and Reiki you would probably be more comfortable with a nice top and wearing loose trousers, however it really doesn't matter providing you are feeling happy and relaxed in your type of clothing, which is of paramount importance.

How long does a session last?

For reflexology a single session will last between forty five minutes to an hour. The first treatment will be longer, lasting about an hour and a half. This is because I will start with a consultation, covering client's lifestyle, medical history and general health.
For Body massage The first treatment will take longer as a consultation takes place prior to treatment. The massage treatment itself varies in time dependant on the client's needs.
For reiki a single session will generally last between an hour and twenty minutes.

Will reflexology tickle or hurt?

Reflexology does not tickle. However while the feet are being worked, there may be some discomfort. This is a reaction from illness or damage to a part of the body.Areas of discomfort do improve over each session as I work to bring your body to zero balance. I will ask you to gage the discomfort between 1 to 10.... 10 being almost unbearable.

How will I feel afterwards?
After the first one or two treatments of reflexology your body may respond/react in a very definite way.. such as feeling lethargic, or energised, nauseous or tearful however this is transient. You will have a sense of relaxation and well-being.
How you feel, is vital information for me, because it notifies me of how your body has responded and I shall ask you to comment on the effects you have experienced at every subsequent treatment. I will give you a sheet which will outline possible however normal reactions at your first treatment.

After receiving body massage, you will feel extremely relaxed, have a fabulous sense of well-being and for some even sleepy!

After receiving reiki you will feel very relaxed and have a sense of well being... sometimes you may feel emotional however this is short lived.

Is Reflexology and Reiki safe for all ages?

Yes, reflexology is suitable for all ages...children love it and usually respond very well, however with under eighteens the parent must be present for the duration of the treatment and countersign the consent form. With every client a medical history will be taken prior to treatment and where necessary a doctors permission will be sort.

Reiki again is suitable for all ages... however in the case of a child... it is dependant on the child's ability to understand what is involved, and level of patience... e.g staying still during the treatment. So really from the age of ten is probably better.

How many treatments will I need?
The course of treatments varies in length and frequency as it is dependant on the individual client and personal needs. However six weekly treatments for both Reflexology and Reiki allows for effective assessment of the individual client's needs.

Once the client's body is in balance it is advised to continue fortnightly or monthly to maintain your well-being and energy levels.

Body massage is based on the individual clients wishes as to how regularly they receive massage and for what reasons. Many will come on a weekly or fortnightly basis where as some may simply come for a birthday treat/ pamper session!

Are you qualified as a reflexologist, Masseuse and to practice Reiki?
Yes, I have a Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology and I am a Full Member of the Association of Reflexologists.

Yes, I have a Level 3 diploma in Anatomy & Physiology, Health & Safety,& Holistic Body Massage.I am a Full Member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists.


I am also a registered member of the CNHC... Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.. of which I hold a certificate.

I have a practitioner certificate in Jikiden Reiki.

Are you Insured to practice?

Yes I hold a valid Insurance certificate to practice both Reflexology,Body massage,and Reiki which is visible within my therapy room.

What are your prices?

Full Treatment Session £25.00.
Reflexology takes 45-60 mins approximately.
Jikiden Reiki takes 60-70 mins approximately.

Combined Reiki/Reflexology session £40.00

Mobile treatments (including treatment and fuel) in your own home within a ten mile radius of Ivybridge £30.00.Mobile treatments( including treatment and fuel) within a twenty mile radius of Ivybridge £35.00.
